Everybody's a Critic...3

Ok ok...I know it's been in the theaters for a while, but I just got back from seeing it and it was GREAT!!!! It's an action movie with a heart. The main character "Brian" (Liam Neeson) is a former government preventer ...what that is exactly, you'll learn when you see it. In the movie his daughter is kidnapped, and wouldnt you know, he had a problem with that. The movie was pretty badd ass, and I'd def recommend it to all my readers. Share your thoughts if you've seen it or have an opinion!

Evolution

So....

I'm currently on a 4 hour bus ride and it looks like just about 75% of the passengers are doing something on a laptop!!! The other 25% are on their cellphones....am I crazy or are we losing our minds to technology???

Yea, clearly i'm one of the 75 on the geek side!

Do You Watch ABDC??

Well if you don't you are certainly missing out!!! Last night's episode was simply amazing!! I consider myself a bit of a dancer, but the performances from the 3 remaining crews yesterday consisted of some of the best dancing I've ever seen. I've been going for Quest Crew the whole season and last night they def proved themselves...I have no doubt they are going to destroy Beat Freaks in votes. Check them out in the Hip-Hop Decatholon episode:

Before the episode was over they each did a performance to an original track. Showing more favoritism, here's quest crew again with their performance to their homebrewed track "OrQUESTra" ...check out the flip in the end....its simply awe inspiring!

Broadcasts on the Loose...

Yesterday at work, me and a few coworkers had a discussion about some music on the radio. One of my favorite songs on Usher's "Here I Stand" is Trading Places. My coworker (he only has about 5 years more experience in this game we call life) believe that the song is very explicit especially for the radio...one of his examples: "...order chinese food while you do me..." He misses the old days of R&B when sexual explicitness was hidden in lyrical genius. I'm torn because I don't care for the excessiveness on the radio, but I love the song...what do you think?

NBA News

As if you haven't heard enough from/about Starbury (Stephan Marbury) this season...I've got a little news for my East Coast fans. Tomorrow, he will be signing with the Boston Celtics!!! Personally I hate Boston, but two of my favorite players currently reside there...I wonder if it will be a good reunion betweek Marbury and KG. Anyway, he said to reporters that his "future" teammates are happy that he's coming. What do you think...are you happy to see him go?

Skills that pay the BILLS

Recently a statement was released that the current Recession is expected to last at least another full year. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news if you didn't already hear, but I do have something a bit more positive to share with you.
This article talks about a bunch of ways to supplement your income...some of them being really feasible. Here's just a taste:
-Sell stuff!! You'd be suprised what you could sell on ebay and actually profit from
-Clinical Trial Participant: if you live on or near a college campus, you could fill out some surveys or if your looking for the big bucks, take a real trial...involving some experiment drugs...some pay upwards of $2000!
-Home made geek squad: our generation holds the power when it comes to technology, so y not get paid for your knowledge?? People you know or live near you may need technical help...even if you charge 1/4 of what the geek squad charges you're still making a killing.
-Handy man: men...if you have any carpentry skills...USE them!!
-Plasma/Blood/Sperm Donor: if you go to a for profit place you can make some $$ and potentially help some one
Theres like 15 more in the article, and I am offering Tech help, and Handyman help to anyone who may need...comment if you do

....Hey, i don't get paid to blog you know...gotta pay the bills some how.

Cell Phone Companies

A vast majority of cell phone owners wish they didn't have to pay so much for their service, especially texting. But, along comes Metro PCS...$40 unlimited text and mins!!! You know what that means?? It will slowly get popular and either a big company will try to scoop them up (like the Alltel situation) or perhaps major companies will lower their prices. Also, Senator Herb Kohl of Wisconson is worried that these companies have been taking advantage of us by raising text prices astronomically! And because of that he is trying to pass legislation to rectify that situation...check it out.

Racist "POST".....Literally

This morning the Post thought this satirical comic would make everyone laugh. They claim to see no racist undertone or disrespect to our current president. I find it very offensive and outwardly racist. I'd rather not talk about it anymore ...sorry I had to post it but its better that everyone's informed...

How long does it take to complete a rubix cube?

I don't remember how long it takes me to do one, but I know I've finished one. Well, now I'd like to introduce the first fully solvable cube from rubix.... the Touchcube. It's touch sensitive on many all sides, has an accelerometer to hinder accidental activation, lighting of course, and an option to get hints. O yea, you can even pause the game, turn it off and resume later!! So what could possibly be wrong with it??? It's carrying a hefty price tag @ $149.99 a pop! Hits stores this fall...think its worth the price?

Wow, are you serious?? 2

I know VH1 has some wild and crazy reality shows...but i never expected to see this when flipping channels tonight. It seems as though they have given rupaul a tv show with a bunch of 'marys'. From the 2 mins that i watched it seems as though the point of the show is to be the best drag queen you can be... I have nothing against dudes who find this entertaining, but these guys or gals?? certainly have some sugar in the tank. Readers, please comment...trust me it will make you day better, satisfaction gauranteed!!

Everybody's a Critic...2

I know theres no #1, but this will be our segment on DVDs from now on. I recently saw the movie Blindness. This is a compeling film based on survival, love, and appreciation. It begs watchers to ask the question..."what would I do??" It truly made me appreciate my vision and the loved ones I have around me. I guess you could say its a heavy topic. And I also what how our society would handle such a situation...hmm? I rate this movie....Go Rent That! These segments will show up often because I'm a movie lover and active Netflix member. And I will have 2 other ratings that you will see in the near future.

Wow, Are You For Real? 1*

Apparently yesterday in new jersey a young woman was seriously injured and hospitalized by her friends pet chimp while visiting, yes I said chimp as in monkey. As the attack was happening the owner of the chimp asked 'george' to stop, called the police, hit him with a frying pan, and stabbed him with a butcher knife, all in that order. This didn't stop George, he must have had a serious issue with this ladie because he continued til the police arrived and shot him. I know this is hard to believe, but it's true please leave a comment, there's too much for 1 person to say about this.

*Correction, the incident occured in Connecticuit. And it was reported that the monkey went back to it's cage after being shot, then died shortly there after.*

Coming to a Theater Near You...v3

Last night 'The International' came out. It is a suspense/thriller featuring Clive Owen (Inside Man) and Naomi Watts (King Kong). It looks like a lot of twists and decent action scenes. Click on the title for more on the movie and trailers, below is a brief synopsis...but reader beware *spoiler alert*

"The International centers on an obsessive Interpol agent (Clive Owen) who spearheads an investigation into one of the world's most high-profile and powerful banking institutions in an attempt to expose them for worldwide arms brokering, corruption and murder. Naomi Watts will play a Manhattan assistant district attorney who partners with the agent to take down the bank."

TV you should know about....1

I know that no ones gonna be in on a Friday night...right? Well if you are, FOX is premiering a new show tonight called Dollhouse ...no homo. Its actually got a unique storyline, heres a high quality trailer and a brief synopsis.

"The Dollhouse is a very secret, and very illegal, place where wishes come true. Clients with the right connections and enough money can hire "Actives", people who have been programmed to perfectly fulfill the needs, and desires of their clients. The Actives are people who have chosen, for their own reasons, to surrender their bodies..."

'09 V-Day Reality Love Event...pt 5 Grand Finale

This show, "There's Something About Miriam" is about a 21 year old super model from mexico looking for love. The show features 6 guys and her going on dates like any other reality 'love' show and it originally aired in europe about 5 years ago. The reason I chose this show for the finale was because of the second video below...the shows finale. The first one is a commercial for the show, after you watch the videos go to the comments to see what I have to say.

I Love Music.....Track 2

Quick Note...

Good morning readers...please excuse this boring post but IT at my company and I aren't quite seeing eye to eye on the issue of blogging.... Yes I'm sorry that means most updates will b mobile or quick until later.

Anyway, please be careful outside. The wind has been whipping heavy since yesterday and has caused at least 4 confirmed deaths. That's right no joke. That also reminds me of something I heard last night, live life to the fullest cuz you never know how much 'time' you have left. In other news, another plane crash landed yesterday in buffalo, it was only 5 miles from the airport, but it hit a house, all 47 passengers and the home owner passed. They believe it may have something 2 do with the wind. Finally Michael Jackson has an infection that could potentially evolve into an aggresive flesh-eating virus. Worst case scenario it could kill him or destroy all the skin on his face. Sorry to start the morning off on such a sour note, please keep the above mentioned in your prays. I will make up for it with a climactic end to the vday event later on today....trust me, u don't wanna miss it.

Did they just say "Hero Tabs"???

I don't mean to be insensitive to anyone suffering from erectile disfunction, but is it me or is every other commercial for some kinda drug to help guys out downstairs??? This morning i was only in the car for 10 mins and I heard two commercials for some 'new' strips, thats right like listerine strips, that will do the job and another commercial for something called HERO TABS! No it doesn't turning you into spiderman....but it is suppose to turn you into an anaconda! I think thats what the commercial said. I just think they could work on fixing some less superficial problems, idk maybe like cancer?? Thats my rant on there being more forms of viagra than asprin.

'09 V-Day Reality Love Event...pt 4

Yes, he's the one that started it all for me...my fascination with idiots looking for "love" on reality tv that is. The one and only FLAAAAAAVAAA FLAAAAV aka "i'm so krusty." There is little to say about this show, i think its pretty self explanatory...but i've never figured out why these girls were interested in his broke and ugly behind....and their willingness to kiss him....WoooW....i just thru up in my mouth, a lil bit

"Twins...AGH!" yes, that was the funniest part of the show for me. On todays edition of our VDAY event, we have the sequal to the popular Shot at Love with Tila Tequila. This season they decided to take Bisexual Twins, the ikki sisters, and throw them in a house with 24 coeds. Infighting between the sisters added to the shows comedic value. I wonder who was the guy at mTV that said "Hey, you know what be really sweet?? If we had some hot models, that were twins...that were willing to pretend they were bi and wear miniskirts while they argue over who's gonna 'fall in love' with a bunch of subpar tools and lesbians!" Who ever it was, he probably got a promotion...heres a few clips

Breaking Celebrity News**

This just in!!! Chris Brown is currently being "sought" after by the police for his involvement of an alleged beating. Sounds like c-breezy was in a car with a young ladie...no not ri-ri (O SNAP) and they got into an argument. Said argument escalated outside of the vehicle and the woment told the police it was the "pop-star." I wonder if he got served and couldn't take it??? Remember, you heard it here first...

*Update...Neither Chris Brown nor Rihanna have shown up at the Grammys...I wonder y

**Update...So the beaten woman was Rihanna. And she did have some rather serious injuries. Is has left the hospital and is suppose to go to Barbados to be with family and away from Brown who was released on $50,000 bail.

Prosthetic Limbs as a Fashion Statement??

These new prosthetics are a concept from Hans Alexander Huseklepp known as the 'Immaculate.' They would allow a much fuller range of motion and allow for nerve reconnection...if possible. This is some amazing technology, but idk if color coordinating limbs are entirely necessary. But hey if they are letting people walk and hold again...

'09 V-Day Reality Love Event...pt 2

Now this is more like it!!! Steming from VH1's long string of "Love" oriented shows comes For the Love of Ray J. They took everything good from Flavor of Love and swapped out a celebrity of the old and krusty/krispy (you pick) type for a young singer/porn star. The second episode aired last night and it was bananas....if you have nothing better to do on monday nights i highly suggest reading my blog haha, see what I did there?? you thought I was gonna say watch this show, which would also be a feasible solution. Check out this clip of the naming ceremony and curious russian chick and the 1 i call tat tat tatted up, from the first episode...

'09 V-Day Reality Love Event...pt 1.5

Alright, check it out...since this is a bonus to this weeks event, i thought it would be appropriate to throw a monkey wrench and put the show Cheaters in the mix. The premise of the show is for an adult to come to the producers because they suspect their significant other of cheating. The show will tale the suspected cheater, show the accuser some incriminating footage, and give them the opportunity to confront the cheater in the act. If you haven't seen the show, you can only imagine how this may turn out...the video that follows will show u what I mean (sorry about the poor quality)...

I'll never understand why people are so willing to embarass themselves on national tv like this....

'09 V-Day Reality Love Event...pt 1

The Bachelor is a reality show I’ve never seen believe it or not, but given the theme of this weeks Valentines event I think it’s an appropriate way to start the week. On the bachelor you start with… a BACHELOR, I know hard to believe, and 25 single ladies. Each week he gives some ladies roses and who ever doesn’t get one must bounce. Anyway I thought this was a “classy” way to start of the 2009 Valentines Day Reality Love Event…Don’t worry, I know this was boring, so there will be a second show posted today.

Valentines Event This Week

In the spirit of valentines day and the rise of reality shows centered on "finding love," I'll share a little something something about a different reality show each of the five days leading up to the 14th, so make sure you don't miss a day. Definitely going to turn your office frown to an attractive blog readers glee...until tomm

Holy Matrimony...MLB & Roids

Honestly, I thought it was bad when Clemens and Barry Bonds were all over the news for the this steroids crap, not to mention all the other pro baseball players accused of taking and cheating. But now Alex Rodriguez is next on the chopping block...as if his appearance in Joe's book was not enough. I'm sure you'll see it on the news if you haven't already.

Silly Old People And Cats

I don't know about you readers, but where I work there are quite a few old people who are single and live with cats. I understand that they want the companionship, but when I got grown men talking about feeding their cats with baby bottles??? That's slightly disturbing. Or when they argue with women about who's cat is cuter??? Somethings gotta give....

Coming to a Theater Near You...v2

Tonight the movie Push comes out. It's a sci-fi action flick that has something to do with young people having the ability to push things with their mind and a government agency looking to capture them. Likes like it could compare to Jumper nicely. Let me know what you guys think.

Chun-Li is back to whoop some '09 behind!

I don't know about the rest of y'all but I used to love Street Fighter as a kid. On 2/17 the sequel is coming to xbox 360 and ps3 in the High Definition!! Check out the video (press HQ to watch the high quality version) and share you excitement or disinterest...

Make tonight a movie night?

I don't know about you guys, but when I think movie night, I think NETFLIX. It's great for movie lovers who don't have time to make it to the theaters for every single movie, don't want to pay $12 a film, and hate driving back and forth to the local blockbuster. Check out that link if you want a free trial. This week I have Eagle Eye and Tropic Thunder at the top of my list...one action movie that looks like 1.5 hours well spent, and one curious comedy that might have me rolling on the floor laughing or feeling confused in a racist sense. Either way i'll let you know.

This Lady is CRAZY!!!

I'm sure you've all heard of the amazing ladie who had 8 kids at once, right??? What you might not know is that she's single, unemployed and already had 6 kids (all under the age of 7)!!!! Thats right she is now a single mother of 14!!! Wait, it gets better...none of these children were even conceived through sex, they were all from invetro-fertilization and she seems to be addicted. After the first few, the donor asked her to stop using his little swimmers, but the addict did what she knows best...so now she's got 14 kids with no father and no job to afford them. And she's happy about it....WILD

Some Engineers Are Simply Desperate...

An interactive toilet???? REALLY?? no words, watch the video and bewilder yourself...

The TV Gods Have Spoken...

After posting about Fringe last night i thought it would be only right to share HULU with you guys. Finally there is a simple, free, and legal way to watch the shows you love on the internet anytime any place. And HULU is the way to do it...it's free because they play a couple of 15 second commercials during the show....hey i'm not complaining! They offer shows in HD and if you plug up to you TV its just as good as seeing it during PrimeTime. Check out the Superbowl Commercial...

Trial and Error...

Thought it would be cool to play games on a blog for a friday... This should b a high speed chase game where you chase the car that the compass points to up top...to play click on the game and use the arrows to drive the car...lets c if i can work it out...

Please comment if it works for you or not...and if you'd like to see more games in the future...if you don't post i'll assume it was a poor decision on our part...

Why doesn't anyone know this show?

My favorite new show on TV is Fringe from FOX. It's on tuesdays @ 9pm...this is the first season and its crazy. The show is like Law & Order, CSI, and The X-Files mixed together. Heres a real brief synopsis...

"FBI agent Olivia Dunham and Peter Bishop are faced with a rapidly spreading unexplained phenomenon of the threatening kind. In an attempt to stop the spread, they enlist the assistance of Bishop's estranged father, the institutionalized scientist Dr. Walter Bishop."
If you check out the link above they have full episodes...let me know what you think.

Total Disrespect!

What is with old men and gym locker rooms?? I am completely secure with my sexuality, but that doesnt make it cool 4 you old dudes to dry your elderly man business under the hand dryer when i'm trying to wash my hands!!! WTF...I just don't get it...is it a generational thing? Maybe they don't realize it, but that doesn't make it right. If im facing your direction and you can change in the other direction please do...if not for your own dignity, than please do it for my sanity!!

Etta Who???

*Disclaimer*I do not like Beyonce... But apparently this woman Etta James was the original singer of the song Beyonce did at the inaugural ball. Miss James did not appreciate the cover and has been recently heard talking ish about B. All I want to say is who the heck is Etta James??? She should be happy her song was heard at the inauguration of the first black president not to mention that it was done by one of the most popular artist of this generation. Old people...HILARIOUS

"How'd You Find That Track?"

Recently someone asked me how I knew the name of that Veronicas song. I'll let you guys in on a lil' sceret... Anytime I hear a song that's remotely intriguing, I shazam it! Shazam is an amazing iPhone app that tells you what's playing and where 2 find it...it's free, so DL it now!!! If you don't have an iPhone...GET ONE! Check out the pic below...

Rock isn't exactly my favorite kind of music, actually I don't even know if you'd call this rock, but this song is amazing!!! I love the beat and the melody...call me names if you please, but enjoy the song!!!

Who doesn't love a great Deal??

I know I do! Since I love you all so much for stopping by, I wanna put you up on a little know website known only as woot. Woot's known for it's deal-a-day slogan. Everyday they have something different for sale, somethings amazing, somethings not; but def worth checking out. If you're lucky, you'll check it out during a woot-off! Where they have tons of deals, once an item sells out the next item goes on sale. They also have bag-o-crap deals, but you'll have to watch the site to figure out what those are.
Happy Wooting!!

A successful blog

We hope you are all enjoying the site...we've been up a WHOLE 2 days and have recieved rather positive feedback. But our main objective is to entertain, so we'd like to share this superbowl commercial with you...please let us know if you suffer from a similar illness...

Celebrities Gone Wild....

Christian Bale from batman, one of my favorite actors, recently went wild on the set of Terminator Salvation when one of the lighting guys messed the F up. Some enterprising video editors took it amongst themselves to splice that audio with an entertaining oldy from Bill O'Reilly. I found it slightly amusing, hope you like it.

Beef...Rick Ross vs. 50 Cent

What with these rappers and their constant beefs?? You'd think that by the time you get to MTV/z100 status they'd chill out right?? Well apparently thats not the case, Ross said 50 looked at him funny (50 says he cant even recall the situation). This all escalated to Ross making a 50 reference in a track and climax when 50 fly Ross's baby's mother to NY to do an interview dishing dirt on the extra large rapper from the south. Silly stupid yet o so entertaining....check it out

*please note the music in the back lol

Coming to a Theater Near You...v1

If you were watching the superbowl purely for the hits and commercials, i'm sure you saw the commercial for the highly anticipated G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra movie. Ok Ok, maybe you're not to anxious for it, but about 15 years ago GI Joes were the ish!!! Snake eyes was my favorite. Marlyn Waynes, Channing Tatum (the white guy from step-up), and Dennis Quaid star among others as the fight against COBRA rages on again...this time on the big screen. If you didn't see the trailer its a must for any action junkie like myself. Follow the link to see it in HD and see some more info on the film.

Whats in a name???

So i was thinking...we decided to name the blog 9-5 dayze right??? I don't even work from 9-5!!!!!!!!!!! Sadly i'm in from 7-4, hence the 5am alarm clock above. Those two extra ours of sleep must be lovely...please share you morning stories...i know i've been late a # of times.

Cell Phone Evolution...

For those of you who don't know me, i'm a gadget guy so expect technology news here and there. Remember six or seven years ago when a phone with a camera was simply amazing? Not to mention the ability to get on the internet. Well one of the new things is to have GPS on your phone...many current gen phones have it now, but pictured above is a GPS company Garmin designing a cell phone! An amazing time we live in. The next thing coming out is a cell phone with a pico projector on it!! Completely unnecessary but utterly amazing...comment if you want to hear more...

I know today is tuesday, but it really felt like a monday...and this is how monday feels at hix. Welcome to 9-5 dayze, where we try our best to enlighten and/or entertain every individual wishing they weren't at work. This may be a mundane post but the blog is gauranteed to get better.
